This type of steel, commonly known as dual-phase (ferric-austenitic), to which nitrogen is added to improve its welding quality and achieve higher stability among the phases, is almost irreplaceable in environments where high resistance to degradation for corrosion and abrasion is required.

The use of Steel has noticeably been increased over the last years in places where there is a need for high resistance to corrosion combined with high mechanical resistance, such as in refineries and petrochemical plants, off-shore platforms, oil industries and seawater applications.

HADFIELD STEEL
Austenitic manganese steel, also called Hadfield Steel by its inventor Sir Robert Hadfield, is featured by its high tenacity and ductility, besides having a high capacity for hardening due to work and a moderate resistance to wear.

Steel is widely used with slight modifications in its heat treatment and chemical composition based on components such as Carbon, Manganese, Chromium, Nickel and Molybdenum. It is mainly used in mining, quarries, the railway industry, soil movements, drilling, etc.
